Aaron Wan-Bissaka set to join West Ham from Man United

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to seal his move to West Ham in the coming days, Mail Sport understands.

The full back is set to undergo a medical ahead of putting pen to paper at the London Stadium and reports have indicated the overall package is worth £15million.

His imminent departure has freed up funds for United to sign both Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui in a sensational double swoop from Bayern Munich.

Wan-Bissaka has one year left on his United deal but may be in line for a pay-off with the club prepared to recompense him for the reduction in his salary at West Ham.

Indeed, personal terms initially looked to be an issue but negotiations progressed quickly in recent days, bringing to an end the defender's five-year Old Trafford stay.

He came off injured in United's friendly defeat by Liverpool in pre-season and has not been included in the squad for today's Community Shield.

Wan-Bissaka made 190 first-team appearances for the Red Devils and scored two goals after joining in a £50m switch from Crystal Palace in 2019.

West Ham will make him their seventh signing of a busy summer with new boss Julen Lopetegui conducted a wide-ranging overhaul of his squad.

Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Guido Rodriguez all arrived in a spree worth over £100m.

United moved quickly to snap up Mazraoui as Wan-Bissaka's replacement with Bayern accepting a £17m bid - made up of £13m up front and £4m in bonuses.

The 26-year-old, who played under Erik ten Hag during his spell at Ajax, has also entered the final year of his deal at Bayern and can play at left back.

In a significant boost just a week before the start of the Premier League season, United have also reached an agreement with Bayern over Matthijs de Ligt.

The Red Devils will pay around £38m up front with £5m due in add-ons.

Netherlands international De Ligt, a key target for United in this window, will join on a five-year deal including an optional 12-month extension and undergo a medical.

Ten Hag was tight-lipped on both incomings when asked at Wembley.
