Apple's week of Mac updates kicked off on Monday with some fresh M4-powered iMacs and small tweaks to a variety of Mac accessories. After a long wait, the company's Magic Mouse, Keyboard and Trackpad are getting moved from Lightning charging to USB-C... but that is seemingly it. Design-wise, they largely look similar to Apple's last major refresh of the line back in 2015.

Yes, Apple's accessories update appears to be about as minor as it comes. While the addition of modern charging via USB-C is great to see on all three products, it would've been even better if the company decided to move the much-maligned location for the charging port on the Magic Mouse from under the device to pretty much anywhere else. As spotted by The Verge, Apple seemingly likes the location exactly where it is, even if it means users once again won't be able to plug in the mouse to charge and continue using it at the same time.

Apple has received plenty of criticism for the Magic Mouse's design over the years, and even Monday's announcement post on X by CEO Tim Cook had its replies filled with people mocking the port's location.

Pricing for the accessories has similarly not changed from their Lightning-port predecessors, and Apple is still charging extra to get any of the three accessories in black (while still limiting the more fun colors just to those purchasing a similarly-styled iMac).

Per the Apple Store, the new accessories can all be ordered today and will be available later this week. In its announcement video for the new iMac, the company teased that more Mac updates will be happening "over the coming days."
