Armando Broja to hold talks with Enzo Maresca over his Chelsea future

Armando Broja will hold talks with Enzo Maresca in London to figure out his future, with Everton and Wolves among those interested in the Chelsea striker.

Broja was left out of the squad that lost 2-1 to Real Madrid at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte but was not carrying an injury.

The 22-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham, is expected to leave this summer.

Homegrown Broja was used sparingly in the United States as 18-year-old Marc Guiu was preferred up front in Nicolas Jackson’s absence because of injury. Christopher Nkunku has also been used as a striker.

Maresca was asked why Broja was missing after the game against Real and said: ‘It was just a decision.

'He was not injured, luckily for him and for us. We will see what happens.’

To go to Everton, Dominic Calvert-Lewin would likely have to leave Goodison Park.

Broja appeared for only 72 minutes across five friendlies on Chelsea’s tour.

Others who appeared for fewer minutes and could be sold or loaned before the window closes include Ben Chilwell (64), Renato Veiga (38) and Angelo Gabriel (63).
