Arne Slot is snubbed for Premier League manager of the month award

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has missed out on the August Premier League manager of the month award.

However, Slot was snubbed for the first managerial award of the season.

Slot has already taken a step forward towards competing for the September award after overseeing Liverpool's 3-0 win away to Manchester United at the start of the month.

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, meanwhile, has been named the Premier League manager of the month for August.

The 31-year-old became the youngest manager in Premier League history when he replaced Roberto De Zerbi in June.

Hurzeler's side started the campaign with a 3-0 win away to Everton, with that result was followed by a 2-1 success at home to Manchester United.

Brighton ended the month by earning a point away to Arsenal in a 1-1 draw.

The Seagulls are back in action on Saturday when they host Ipswich.
