Arne Slot is not here to please the cameras. He is unlikely to dart over to the Kop beating his chest after his Anfield debut on Sunday and he will certainly not replicate Jurgen Klopp with animated goal celebrations.
But though the Dutchman will stand on the touchline with a poker-face and his hands in trouser pockets, he has a mean streak behind the scenes and has already raised his voice in the dressing room.
At his unveiling in July, Mail Sport asked Slot for his memories of watching Liverpool as a kid. In truth it was a loaded question hoping for a good headline. But he is not here for that, and refused to name-check a list of legends just to win fans' adoration.
Likewise at Ipswich last week, Slot waved to the away end at the end of an opening 2-0 victory and headed down the tunnel, rather than staying to lap up the praise. He is business-like and wants his players to get the credit — not him. It will take some getting used to, but it is admirable in a way.
'Don't expect me to go after the game and do fist pumps,' said the former Feyenoord boss. 'That is not going to be my style. So it is more, make the team play in a certain way and (fans will) like the team and, because of that, they will like the manager as well.

'(Feyenoord fans) liked the way we played. They liked what they saw on the pitch, they liked how we pressed on the pitch, how we played with the ball. There was never a moment I was there standing in front of them. That is not my style. You never know, things can change.'
Slot is not as mild-mannered away from the spotlight. At half-time at Portman Road, he raised his voice to get his ideas across. Defender Jarell Quansah took the brunt of it for losing too many duels to Liam Delap, but the rant was directed at the whole team.
Quansah was substituted and was a picture of frustration when TV cameras zoomed in on his face on the bench. The 21-year-old asked to train 24 hours later — when it was recovery day — to make amends for his perceived errors.
But the manager told Quansah and Co that no one was to be singled out for criticism for the first half as it is a team game. The defender is said to have reacted well, but picked up an injury in training on Tuesday and is a doubt to face Brentford.
Asked if he has ever lost his cool, Slot said: 'I don't think it was "hard, hard'" (at Ipswich) but I raised my voice a bit. I'm not losing it in terms of throwing things across a dressing room but I can be hard on them if I think it's necessary. I don't think that works every week.
'You always look at your team and think, "What do they need?" And if you feel they need a bit of this (punches his palm) you are a bit harder on them, sometimes really hard on them, but never in a way that you are losing your mind.
'I've been a player myself and they would make fun of you afterwards, at least that's what I did with the managers who lost their mind! You always have to be in control. It is important to keep calm.'

He is also not moved by criticism of the new regime for a lack of signings. Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg and Bobby Clark have been sold despite showing promise, bringing in £62.5million.
Again, ruthlessness over emotion. Don't be surprised if his Anfield debut is a quiet affair. In Slot's mind, he is not here to win fans. He is here to win trophies.
