Arsenal complete the signing of Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto  on loan

Arsenal have signed Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on loan to offer backup to current No 1 David Raya.

It comes after Southampton completed the £25m signing of Aaron Ramsdale, with Mikel Arteta's side subsequently failing in their talks to sign Joan Garcia from Espanyol.

Arsenal had also been unprepared to meet Espanyo's £16m valuation for Garcia.

Neto joined Bournemouth in 2022, from Barcelona, having spent time playing at Valencia, Juventus and Fiorentina before then.

Following his arrival, Neto has stepped up to become Bournemouth's first-choice goalkeeper, with Andoni Iraola handing him the captain's armband last season, with the goalkeeper making 32 league appearances, amassing seven clean sheets.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are pushing to sign Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea.

Sterling is looking for an escape route out of Stamford Bridge, as Enzo Maresca has no intentions to play the English winger this season.

Neto's exit comes after Bournemouth signed Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea.
