Arsenal face anxious wait for update on Bukayo Saka's fitness

Saka looked in discomfort as he was seen holding the back of his right leg.

As reported by The Evening Standard, the 23-year-old will undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

England interim manager Lee Carsley was asked about Saka after the game and said: 'He's being assessed. In the build-up to the first goal, you could see he felt something in his leg.'

Carsley could provide a further update on Saka when he holds a press conference on Saturday ahead of England's game away to Finland on Sunday.

Saka could miss the game against Finland but Arsenal will be more concerned about his availability after the international break.

Arsenal face Bournemouth away on October 19 before hosting Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League three days later. Mikel Arteta will be especially eager to have Saka available for the clash at home to Liverpool on October 27.

Saka, who has captained Arsenal at times this season with Martin Odegaard out injured, has enjoyed a hugely productive start to the campaign.

He has scored three goals across all competitions and has already provided seven assists in the Premier League.

Saka has made a major impact this season, setting up seven goals in the Premier League

After losing Odegaard to an ankle injury while he represented Norway during the international break, Arsenal will be hoping for better news on Saka.

Defenders Ben White, Jurrien Timber and Oleksandr Zinchenko were all absent for Arsenal's most recent game against Southampton.

Arsenal are currently in third place in the Premier League, one point behind leaders Liverpool.
