Bournemouth joins fans in the pub to toast derby win over Southampton

Bournemouth defender Julian Araujo has been hailed after joining supporters in the pub to celebrate their derby win over Southampton.

Goals from Evanilson, Dango Outtara and Antoine Semenyo saw Bournemouth led 3-0 at half-time at the Vitality Stadium.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis pulled a goal back for Southampton after half-time, but Bournemouth secured their second win of the Premier League season.

Full back Araujo then fulfilled a promise to Bournemouth supporters following the derby win.

The Cherries social media account shared a clip of the Mexican international in the pub celebrating with fans.

'"'If we beat Southampton I’ll come back to the pub and celebrate",' the post read.

The clip saw Araujo surrounded by Bournemouth supporters, with the fans then starting a chant as they toasted victory over their rivals.

Araujo had not taken to the pitch during the match, with the full back an unused substitute.

Fans, however, lauded him on social media for taking the time to engage with the club's supporters.

'Ah man he did it!!! - what a guy, love him already,' one fan wrote.

'Love the fact he’s actually stopped for a game of pool and not just the photo op,' another added.

'This is what it’s all about,' a third wrote.

A fan of his former club LA Galaxy joined in the praise, stating Araujo is a 'special person'.

'He most definitely is a special person. We miss him at LA Galaxy, but are so happy to see him doing so well now in the Premiership with your squad,' the fan said.

Araujo has made six appearances for Bournemouth since completing a move from Barcelona in the summer, with the Spanish club stating the deal was worth £8million.

The 23-year-old had joined the Catalan giants from MLS outfit LA Galaxy, while he spent time on loan at Las Palmas last season.

Bournemouth moved up to 11th in the Premier League following their victory, with Iraola's side having earned eight points from six matches.
