Iraola touchline ban
There will be no Andoni Iraola in Bournemouth's dugout tonight. He is serving a touchline ban after picking up three yellow cards this season.
The third came in the defeat by Liverpool last weekend.
It is disappointing, but we cannot change it.
They told me that, with yellow cards, you cannot appeal them. That is something that doesn't happen in Spain, over there you can do it.
I think they probably understand my side now, but they cannot accept any appeals for yellow cards.
Last time out...
Bournemouth got the edge over their south coast neighbours in their last Premier League meeting back in April 2023.
Marcus Tavernier struck in the second half to secure a 1-0 win at St Mary's. Southampton went on to finish rock bottom and were relegated.
The Cherries, meanwhile, finished five points clear of the drop zone.
Frosty reception
Expect some brutal chants for Ryan Fraser from the home crowd.
He is not a popular man at Bournemouth after refusing to sign an extension to take him to the end of the Covid-extended season.
There were more than a few wry smiles when Fraser was then sent to Newcastle's U-21s by Eddie Howe - the coach he had disappointed.
Fraser is up for this one, however, and starts.
It is going to be a great challenge for us.
Potter praise
Graham Potter is a guest pundit on Monday Night Football this evening and he has been full of praise for Russell Martin and Southampton.
The style or how you do it is a way for the club to align in everything. There are no guarantees.
The how cannot be the most important thing.
The players and what attributes they have are most important.
He sees possession as a way to do that. He is a brave young coach and I'm really impressed.
Martin: 'We've deserved more'
Southampton boss Russell Martin, speaking to Sky Sports...
'We are learning about ourselves all the time.
'It's been interesting and enjoyable. Results have been frustrating and we feel we deserve a little bit more at times.'
Iraola: 'This game is key'
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, speaking to Sky Sports...
'It has been a difficult start as we had a tough schedule. Two losses against Chelsea and Liverpool, this game will be key for us.
'The team controlling the game is the one having the chances.
'You prefer to be on the ball and to dictate the game - but I prefer the chances to have the ball.
'We have to be careful.'
Lallana, Archer dropped
It's two changes for Southampton tonight.
Cameron Archer and Adam Lallana have been replaced by Lesley Ugochukwu and Maxwel Cornet in a reshuffle from Russell Martin.
Three Cherries changes
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has made three changes to the side that lost 3-0 at Liverpool last weekend.
