Broadcom’s Rally transforms agile project management amid data privacy concerns

Managing agile software development must address critical issues, including data privacy, and that’s where comprehensive project management tools, such as Broadcom’s Rally software, come into play.

Being a purpose-driven organization requires the capability to adapt to change quickly and effective team collaboration, making Rally pivotal through the presentation of agile methodologies, according to Serge Lucio (pictured), general manager of the Agile Operations Division at Broadcom Inc.

Serge Lucio, general manager of the Agile Operations Division at Broadcom Inc., talks to theCUBE during VMware Explore 2024 about the game-changing effect of Broadcom’s Rally as an agile project management tool.

Broadcom’s Serge Lucio talks to theCUBE about how Rally is a catalyst for agile operations.

“For the first time we’re delivering Rally, which is our enterprise agile management solution at scale on-premise,” he said. “Historically, for pretty much 25 years, Rally has been a multi-tenant SaaS product, and for the first time it’s going to be available to be deployed on-premise on VCF infrastructure or over container-based infrastructure. The main driver that we’ve seen is many of our customers, especially in Europe, really taking a different stance on data privacy.”

Lucio spoke with theCUBE Research’s Rob Strechay at VMware Explore, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the game-changing effect of Broadcom’s Rally as an agile project management tool. (* Disclosure below.)

Data privacy: The correlation between Broadcom’s Rally and agile operations

Since agile practices help optimize processes in today’s digital transformation, revamping the operation model is important. As a result, Broadcom’s Rally boosts communication and transparency by offering a structured environment for enhanced agile operations, Lucio pointed out.

“If you look at the agile operation division today, it really comprises three product areas, and really our focus is really on the digital transformation that many of our large enterprise customers are having,” he noted. “There are two sides we’re really tackling. The first one, which is really where Clarity and Rally sit, is really about helping those organizations rethink their operating model. We’ve been on this agile journey for 20 years.”

For enterprises to gain a competitive edge, they need to become agile by aligning to business cycles and investment management. As a result, Broadcom assists with infrastructural transformations using products, such as Rally and VeloCloud, with the latter offering a high-performance, reliable and flexible network, according to Lucio.

“When we think about infrastructure transformation, it’s been multidimensional,” he explained. “Many of these organizations have been moving to software-defined networks. We need a new way to think about observing that network and dealing and managing with that network. In that area we integrate with VeloCloud, we integrate with NSX. We basically have solutions that provide you with end-to-end visibility across the modern network.”
