Bynoe-Gittens hailed 'England's next superstar' after Dortmund double

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has been hailed as 'England's next superstar' being developed at Borussia Dortmund after he scored twice in the Champions League.

The youngster was only introduced in the 68th minute but two goals from his right boot inspired Dortmund to victory and earned him man of the match.

He could have had a hat-trick but new striker Serhou Guirassy hoovered up a 95th-minute penalty to give the Germans a 3-0 win at Club Brugge.

Bynoe-Gittens now has four goals in five games this season and people feel he could chart a similar path to Jude Bellingham.

The 20-year-old has even been hailed as 'England's next superstar' by Get German Football News thanks to his stunning form.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is earning rave reviews after scoring twice for Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night off the bench

The 20-year-old has been hailed as 'England's next superstar' and a 'gem' after a flying start to the season

'Bynoe-Gittens is such a threat 1v1. He’s so explosive. He will be nice competition for Gordon for England,' one fan wrote on X.

'They certainly know how to unearth a British gem of a player,' another said of Dortmund.

One fan thinks Arsenal should try and sign him: 'Mikel Arteta would do wonders with Jamie Bynoe-Gittens at Arsenal. Four goals in just 122 total minutes across major comps is mental. One of the most potent English wingers in the world right now.'

After watching the match, Joe Cole offered his insight into young English stars' development at Dortmund on TNT Sports.

'Talking to people out in Germany, they want to take the best young players in England, take them out, there's a pathway.

'Imagine the best 16-year-old in the country now, he's thinking: "Should I sign for Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City? Borussia Dortmund is on the table - well, that's interesting."

'He'll think (Jadon) Sancho, think Bellingham, (Bynoe-)Gittens, it's a pathway they offer. What we think Celtic should do and what Brugge are trying to do, Borussia Dortmund are already on that next level. They're managing to do that and also compete, which is incredible. That's off the back of doing it for so long.'

He joined Dortmund in 2020 after coming through the ranks at Reading and Manchester City

Bynoe-Gittens was reared in the academy of Reading, like Michael Olise, but was picked by Manchester City in 2018 before Dortmund came calling.

Injury initially kept him out of action but he made his Bundesliga debut in April 2022, scoring his first goal a few months later, and has become a regular in the team.

He has played as high as the England under-21s and won the under-19s Euros in 2022, starting in the final in a 3-1 victory over Israel.
