Chelsea's hat-trick hero Noni Madueke has last laugh with Wolves fans

Madueke had angered Wolves fans prior to the game with a post on his Instagram story in which he wrote: 'Everything about this place is s***' and tagged Wolverhampton.

Although Madueke quickly deleted the post, it was seen by many fans, with the winger subsequently writing: 'Damn wrong Instagram account.. you lot are too fast'.

As a result of his actions, Madueke was booed by the Wolves fans on Sunday.

However, he responded by scoring three goals, all of which came in the second half.

Noni Madueke declared that 'this place is s***' in an eyebrow-raising, now-deleted social media post

Madueke's goals, scored in the 49th, 58th and 63rd minutes of the game, were all low shots from inside the area.

After the game, Madueke apologised for his social media activity.

Madueke told Premier League Productions: 'I just want to apologise to everyone that I might have offended.

'It is just a human mistake, an accident. It wasn't meant to be out on my socials like that. I'm sure Wolverhampton is a nice town and I'm sorry. In terms of the boos I expected it but it is part of the game. You have to be able to play under that sort of pressure.'

Madueke also reveled in his partnership with Cole Palmer, who set up all three of his goals.

He said: 'He's cold, I'm fire so it mixes well'.

In addition to Madueke's contribution, Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer and Joao Felix were also on target for Chelsea.

Madueke has enjoyed an encouraging start to the season, with the 22-year-old also getting on the scoresheet against Servette in the first leg of Chelsea's Europa Conference League play-off tie.
