The Indianapolis Colts selected Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell with the 52nd pick in the NFL Draft. Mitchell was projected as a first-round pick, but fell to the second round due to reported character issues.
Colts general manager Chris Ballard defended Mitchell, calling the reports "bullshit." He stated that Mitchell is a good kid and that the negative reports are unfounded.
Mitchell played two seasons at Georgia before transferring to Texas. He had a stellar season with the Longhorns, catching 55 passes for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Colts believe Mitchell can contribute to their offense alongside Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs. They hope he can provide more weapons for their young quarterback, Anthony Richardson.
