Danielle Collins slammed Iga Swiatek for her 'fakeness' and as shed reflected on their heated conversation at the end of Wednesday's Olympic clash in Paris.
It was a match where Swiatek dropped to her knees on the court and clutched at her midsection after getting hit by a ball during a point.
However, it was her opponent who was unable to finish the match, retiring due to a stomach injury in the third set.
There appeared to be no love lost as the pair shook hands following the retirement with Collins having a few choice words before storming away.
After the match, Collins explain what was said during the exchange.

She said: 'I told Iga she didn't have to be insincere about, you know, my injury,' Collins said.
'There's a lot that happens on camera, and there are a lot of people with a ton of charisma and come out and are one way on camera and another way in the locker room.
'And I just haven't had the best experience, and I don't really feel like anybody needs to be insincere. They can be the way that they are. I can accept that, and I don't need the fakeness.'
Swiatek seemed confused by the comments, saying she merely wanted to congratulate her on her career before she retires at the end of the season.
'Well, I won't argue about it, because I've never done anything unpleasant towards her,' Swiatek replied when asked. 'I just wanted to congratulate her on her successful career, because we all know that this is her last year on tour…'

'Honestly, I don't know what she meant because we didn't even have any interactions that could have caused her to say that to me.
'Generally speaking, during tournaments, when we go out and have time to change our clothes, we are entitled to five minutes. Here I asked the lady who escorted me how much time I had. She didn't tell me that. She replied that they don't count time here and that I should just leave when I feel like it.
'So I used this time to change and cool down, and then I returned to the court. I honestly didn't know how much time had passed, but I didn't do anything against the rules, so I don't really know what the whole situation was about.'
Swiatek, a five-time Grand Slam champion who is the top-seeded woman at the Summer Games, was leading 6-2, 1-6, 4-1 when Collins retired from the match after taking a medical timeout because of an injured stomach muscle, then getting another visit from a trainer.

Collins, a 30-year-old who was the runner-up at the 2022 Australian Open, said she cramped and went into convulsions because of dehydration and exhaustion after competing in heat that reached 36 degrees on Tuesday.
She blamed Olympics organizers for not having insulated water bottles, for the water not being cool enough and for not 'prioritizing the health of the athletes.'
Swiatek is seeking her first Olympic medal at a place she knows so well. The 23-year-old from Poland has won four of the past five championships at the French Open, the Grand Slam tournament held each year at Roland Garros, the same site being used for tennis at these Games.
In the semifinals Thursday, Swiatek will face sixth-seeded Zheng Qinwen of China. Zheng, who reached the final at the Australian Open in January, eliminated Angelique Kerber of Germany 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-6 (6) on Wednesday.
