'Deadpool & Wolverine': Does It Have a Post-Credits Scene?

Can't wait to watch Marvel's Deadpool & Wolverine? Fourth-wall-breaking jokes, ugly-cute dogs and cameos are all a part of the R-rated crowd-pleaser, which is now in theaters.

In the blood-drenched buddy action movie, Ryan Reynolds' foul-mouthed mercenary learns his world is in danger, and the way forward involves Hugh Jackman's grouchy X-Man. In addition to offering nonstop action and humor, the film highlights the internal struggles of its beloved main characters.

In his review of Deadpool & Wolverine, CNET's Aaron Pruner writes that it "ticks all the boxes a fan could want in a Marvel movie. It's the best installment in the franchise, the best Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame, and it charts a bold new path for the MCU." If you have plans to attend a screening, here are answers to all your pressing post-credits questions.

Yes, the Marvel film has one after-credits scene. You'll want to stay seated until the credits are over to catch the clip, which lasts for about a minute.

If you're here to learn what happens in the scene, the rest of this article includes a spoiler-packed explanation. Do not continue reading unless you want to know what happens in the post-credits scene.

spoiler alert

While Deadpool racks up many kills over the movie's 2-hour and 7-minute runtime, there's one death the Merc with a Mouth refuses to take credit for.

When Wolverine and Deadpool get stuck in The Void's wasteland, they run into Johnny Storm/the Human Torch. Deadpool thinks the Chris Evans in front of him is Captain America until he exclaims, "Flame on!". Baddies (including Pyro and Toad) quickly capture them and put them in a convoy to an unknown destination.

Johnny explains the general fates of those trapped in the Void by the Time Variance Authority are to die by an entity called Aloith or to "work for her." "Her" turns out to be Cassandra Nova, Charles Xavier's evil twin sister.

When they meet, Deadpool opens his big mouth and fills Cassandra in on the long list of insults that Johnny allegedly said about her in the convoy. Johnny denies the accusations, but it isn't enough to keep Cassandra from turning him into a gross pile of organs on the ground.

The Human Torch is fired up

It's easy to believe Deadpool caused Johnny's demise, but is that the whole story? In the movie's post-credits scene, Deadpool reveals a tape of a previously unseen moment.

A hidden-camera-style video from above shows the convoy with a captive Johnny, Wolverine and Deadpool. Then, Johnny launches into a load of colorful insults directed at Cassandra.

This definitely isn't Captain America.

Those looking for hints of a future Deadpool and Wolverine team-up or other MCU project won't find them here, but Deadpool & Wolverine takes its end credits scene as an opportunity to make the audience laugh one more time. Come for Wolverine and Deadpool, stay to see Chris Evans roast a villain like Steve Rogers never could.
