Got your eye on Sony's new, slimmer version of the PlayStation 5? The PS5 had a jump in price when it was refreshed in November, but we have good news: Amazon's Prime Day deals can save you $50 off both the disc-based and digital-only consoles right now. The digital-only model is currently down to $400, with the disc drive-equipped version now down to $449. We've found that the models are sometimes listed as out of stock (watch out for "Buy used" next to the price and avoid those), but that can change at any minute. Be sure to check back if your preferred model isn't currently available, and grab it as soon as it's back in stock.

These deals are well worth taking advantage of if you want to access next-gen games like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Demon's Souls and many more. Just note that these prices are exclusively available to Prime members.

"I'm extremely impressed with the entire PS5 package," CNET's Dan Ackerman wrote in his review of the original 2020 model. "The design is bold. The new controller is a big step forward, both in ergonomics and features, and the addition of the new built-in controller mic (and sold-separately new HD webcam) will no doubt send many new streamers to Twitch and other platforms to show off."

Aside from the slimmer design, the only noticeable difference under the hood is that the new model has 1TB of storage instead of 825GB. The disc drive can also be removed. If you're a basketball fan, a PS5 digital edition bundle with NBA 2K25 has similarly dropped in price, from $500 to $450. A great excuse to treat yourself, as we're unsure if the holiday sales will beat this.
