Embarrassing moment Premier League footballer falls entering a lift

A Premier League star had an embarrassing moment as they entered the lift following a trip into the pool on their day off.

Everton striker Neal Maupay has shared CCTV footage of himself slipping over while in just his swimming trunks.

The 27-year-old entered the lift but immediately lost balance as he planted his foot near the door before it closed.

Maupay landed flat on his back with his towel landing on his face, with the noise catching the attraction of someone outside the lift, who quickly checked up on him.

He got back to his feet and took the now very wet lift to the floor he desired. Before leaving, he gave it a quick wipe-down so that whoever entered the lift next, didn't have the same mishap.

Before leaving the lift Maupay gave the lift a quick wipedown - so that whoever is next in there doesn't have the same embarrassing moment that he did

Maupay made light of his situation by sharing the video along with the caption: 'Enjoying my day off today at the pool.'

Fans were amused by his embarrassing moment with comments flooding in to joke about the striker's clumsy moment.

One football fan wrote: 'Nice slice tackle Neal,' while another commented 'you can't park there mate'.

A Manchester United fan joked that the slip was Maupay 'practicing to get penalties' ahead of the new season.

An Everton fan had more immediate concerns, reminding Maupay that they have a friendly against Roma on Saturday at Goodison Park.

@apple_cfc replied: 'Bro added himself cleaning the water like he's in a top 10 respect moments video.'

While another football fan commented: 'That's why you dry off before leaving the pool.'

Maupay spent last season loan at Brentford, scoring six Premier League goals for the Bees.

Maupay, who is known as one of football's most biggest wind-up merchants is very active on social media

He was particularly active during Euro 2024, writing: 'It's coming home' along with a video of a man laughing after England's group stage draw with Denmark.

After England's final defeat to Spain, the Frenchman posted a meme from UK show Love Island that shows a man smiling having said 'Nah, I'm very sad, trust me.'

Maupay has regularly mocked James Maddison too, posting a photo of him holding darts after the Tottenham star was left out of England's final squad for Euro 2024.

Maddison wasn't impressed when Maupay copied his darts celebration during the game between Tottenham and Brentford in January.
