Fallout 4's player count has surged past the initial hype for the Fallout TV show thanks to a well-timed update from Bethesda.
Despite the update's various issues, Fallout 4 has seen a rise in concurrent players, reaching 167,000 last weekend. The update has also improved the game's performance on consoles and fixed various bugs.
Fallout 4 is now in the top 10 most-played games on PlayStation and #13 on Xbox, which is impressive for a game released in 2015.
Fallout 76 has maintained a higher player count than before, while Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 have seen a slight decrease.
Despite the issues, the update has clearly boosted Fallout 4's player base beyond the surge caused by the Fallout TV show.
