Fans praise Premier League for their new scoreboard graphics

Football fans have been impressed by the Premier League's new goal scoreboard animation, with some claiming that broadcasters have 'upped their game'.

With the new Premier League season kicking off over the weekend, Premier League Productions have developed a series of new scoreboard animations that will change when each club scores a goal.

Each club is represented by a separate emblem, icon or traditional feature of their club in the animation, with fans online debating who has the best graphic.

Liverpool's animation features a shining image of a Liverbird, which is featured on the club's crest and synonymous to the City.

After Brighton scored against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, Premier League Productions showcased an animation of a seagull flying across the scoreboard graphic - with the south coast side being nicknamed the Seagulls.

Football fans have praised the Premier League for their new goal scoreboard graphics

Many have been enamoured by the graphics, with one fan writing: 'The Premier League have really stepped up their game.'

Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka's goals for Arsenal in their 2-0 victory against Wolves prompted a cannon to appear on the scoreboard graphic, which subsequently blasted out the word 'GOAL'. Arsenal are known as the Gunners and feature a cannon on their crest as the club were founded by members of the Royal Arsenal armament factory in Woolwich, London.

Man United sealed a late victory against Fulham on Friday night, with new signing Joshua Zirkzee scoring in what was a dream debut. After the Red Devils' goal had gone in, the scoreboard graphic displayed a pair of pitchforks and the word 'GOAL' on a firey background.

Newcastle's animation also got some talking online, with the scoreboard changing to the club's black and white stripes, with the wording 'TOON ARMY' being displayed.

Many have been enamoured by the graphics, with one fan writing: 'The Premier League have really stepped up their game.'

'Premier League Productions, you've outdone yourselves,' another added, noting that the broadcaster had also added specific graphics for goalscorers.

'Props to the designer(s) behind these. So glad the PL is back,' another added.

One also added: 'Sky and TNT wich they could put this much love into their coverage.'

Meanwhile, others have been offering their views on which club's graphics are the best, with many fans appearing to vote for Arsenal.

'Arsenal has the coolest one here. The cannon literally shoots the goal,' one wrote.

'Our one sucks, Brighton's and Arsenal's look great,' one said, while another added: 'The United and Arsenal one's look great.'

'This is what you get when you let designers have creative freedom. That United one is crazy good,' another added.

Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool this weekend to help the Reds beat Ipswich 2-0

Kai Havertz also scored to help Arsenal seal a 2-0 victory against Wolves on Saturday

'Not going to lie, I thought Liverpool's one would be a bit more exciting. But I do like the new animations implemented.'

Meanwhile, several other clubs - including Southampton, Fulham, Ipswich, Everton, Wolves and Chelsea - who failed to score over the weekend are still yet to find out what their animations look like.
