Finland star with fish-themed Wayne Rooney tattoo set to face England

Topi Keskinen is set to follow in the footsteps of his former hero Wayne Rooney on Tuesday night by gracing the hallowed turf at Wembley Stadium.

The 21-year-old - who joined Aberdeen from HJK Helsinki last month - made his senior international debut for Finland on Saturday in a 3-0 loss away to Greece.

He is now preparing to make his first ever appearance at Wembley when Finland take on Group B2 leaders England in the UEFA Nations League.

Ahead of Tuesday's game, one of Keskinen's tattoos has gained a lot of attention.

Keskinen has a large piece of inkwork on his left arm. Part of it bizarrely features ex-England captain Rooney holding a fishing rod.

Reacting to the interest in the tattoo, Keskinen admitted: 'To be honest, it is not such a wonderful tattoo because I designed it myself.

'It has become a bigger deal than I thought it would, especially since I moved to Scotland.‌'

Explaining why he decided to get Manchester United and England icon Rooney inked on his body, he added: 'I have always liked the style of British football. If I get tattoos, I want them to mean something.

'I was a United fan as a kid and also a fan of Rooney. I also love fishing.'

Rooney scored 253 goals in 559 games for United between 2004 and 2017.

He also netted 53 times in 120 appearances for England, making him his country's leading scorer before Harry Kane broke that record in March last year.

Kane has since moved onto 66 goals for the Three Lions and is expected to earn his 100th cap on Tuesday.

Keskinen has featured in three games for Aberdeen since moving to Scotland on August 12.

He scored on his debut in a 1-0 victory over Queen's Park in the Scottish League Cup, before making further appearances in Premiership wins over Kilmarnock and Ross County.
