Gabriel FaceTimes partner Gabrielle Figueirido after PFA nod

Mikel Arteta's side dominated at the event with five players, including Gabriel and his centre back partner William Saliba, selected in the best XI for last season.

Despite agonisingly falling short in the Premier League title race for a second campaign in a row, Arsenal earned more nods than Manchester City, as voted by their peers based on their performances over the past 12 months.

Gabriel, who joined the club from Lille in 2020, earned plaudits for a number of impressive displays at the heart of the Gunners' backline and he was on hand to collect his shiny award in person at the Opera House in Manchester.

The first person he toasted the moment with was his partner Gabrielle Figueiredo.

Sharing a screen recording of their touching chat, Gabriel was seen beaming as he held up his gong while his wife grinned and visibly fist pumped in the air.

The sweet caption accompanying the clip read: 'POV: We dream it together'.

Figueiredo held up half a heart sign and Gabriel blew his partner a kiss before they hung up the call.

The couple began dating in September 2020 and tied the knot three years later in a private ceremony. Their first child, Maya, was born in April 2022.

Figueiredo was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1997 and is a model and social media influencer. She is also a beauty expert and owns a fashion and make-up brand.

Gabriel's PFA inclusion marks the latest milestone in his impressive career in the Premier League to date, in which he has almost racked up 150 appearances.

Five Arsenal players - Declan Rice, David Raya, Gabriel, William Saliba and Martin Odegaard - were selected in the XI, as chosen by the peers for their displays over the past 12 months

David Raya was named in goal in the XI after his debut season between the sticks, having usurped Aaron Ramsdale to become Arteta's undisputed No 1.

Joining Saliba and Magalhaes, Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice were selected in midfield. Odegaard was also named in last year's best XI while Rice earned his spot after catching the eye following his £105million move from West Ham.

Arsenal began the new campaign with a comfortable 2-0 victory against Wolves and are next in top-flight action at Aston Villa on 24 August.
