Aside from this, the headphones have faux leather and cloud foam cushions with a "universal microphone" that is designed for making phone calls. It also features three different sound types: Balanced, Bass Boost and JLab Signature.

During his hands-on, CNET's David Carnoy found that the design of the JLab Studio Pro has a "bit of a retro vibe to it" and "the battery life is also very good" -- and this was without taking into account the $40 discount. He added, "As for sound quality, don't expect these to deliver the clarity and definition of higher-end headphones, but the bass has some punch to it and there's an acceptable amount of detail." So while not the greatest, it's hard to argue with that $10 price point.
