Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is undergoing a medical ahead of sealing his £30million transfer to Liverpool.
The 23-year old Georgia international is set to become the first signing of the Arne Slot era but will stay with Valencia on loan for the season.
Mamardashvili will cost around £25m with a further £5m in add ons and a ten percent sell on clause.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are continuing to discuss potential new signings for this week.
Mamardashvili, 23, excelled at Euro 2024 as Georgia memorably reached the last-16 stage
The goalkeeper, a graduate of the Dinamo Tbilisi academy, joined Valencia permanently in 2022 following a loan spell at the club, and he has gone on to rack up more than 100 appearances for the LaLiga side.
The 23-year-old also featured in all of Georgia's Euro 2024 games, helping them to reach the last-16, with Mamardashvili excelling in their memorable 2-0 win over Portugal in the group stage.
Alisson is set to remain as Liverpool's No 1 for at least the coming campaign, but the Reds were keen to seize the opportunity to snap up a keeper of Mamardashvili's calibre.
Caoimhin Kelleher will stay as the Brazilian's No 2 for the time being, but the permanent signing of the Georgian raises further questions about his long-term future at Anfield.
Mamardashvili has started Valencia's first two games of the season, with Los Ches suffering defeats to both Barcelona and Celta Vigo.
