Goalkeeper loses the plot in footy grand final with a savage act

A goalkeeper is facing a massive ban after a savage act in the South Australia State League 2 grand final on the weekend.

Cove FC 'keeper Ryan Veitch was issued a red card in the 86th minute of the match after a moment of madness that saw him level an opposing player.

Cove FC was leading 3-0 over Modbury Vista with the minutes ticking down until fulltime when things became heated.

That lead to Modbury Vista's Dimos Karagiannis earning a penalty shot to keep his side in the match.

He duly wrong-footed Veitch and scored the penalty, bring the scoreline back to 3-1.

However as he ran through to celebrate with teammates, the Cove FC goalkeeper rose to his feed and delivered a brutal shoulder that knocked Karagiannis to the ground, clutching at his face.

Modbury Vista players rushed in to support their teammate while Veitch was given a red card and punted from the game for his actions.
