Back in August, Google debuted its latest Pixel Watch 3alongside the Pixel 9 series of phones. Today Google just dropped some more big news and it's going to make Pixel Watch owners very happy. Both the original Pixel Watch and the Pixel Watch 2 can receive a Wear OS 5 upgrade. This means that older gen watches will now have some of the features of the Pixel Watch 3. And if you don't already have a Pixel Watch, there are some deals percolating out there, including some shockingly low clearance prices. We'll highlight those deals, and just what this update means, below.
As of 4 p.m. ET today, both the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 devices will begin receiving the latest Wear OS 5 upgrade. With this update, Pixel Watch users will receive several new features, numerous bug fixes, and some performance updates. App updates via the Playstore will also be available for Pixel Watch 1 and Pixel Watch 2 devices. These include the ability to get the grid-view app launcher and Pixel recorder along with improved Camera controls. Keep in mind that the updates are rolling out throughout the week and will depend on your carrier and device. You'll get a notification on your watch when this update is available, so keep an eye out for this.

Following the release of the Pixel Watch 3, Google dropped the priceof the Pixel Watch 2 by $100. That means that right now the Pixel Watch 2 is priced at $250, which is $100 less than the original price but also $100 less than the latest Pixel Watch 3. If you can get your hands on either the Pixel Watch or Pixel Watch 2 and then install these updates, you'll come out ahead. In addition, several readers are reporting that you can currently nab the Pixel Watch 2 at Target on clearance for just $75. This offer seems to be only in select stores, as reported by Redditor u/verydemurevery who posted a picture from their local Target store showing the Pixel Watch 2 on clearance for $75. Though there are no guarantees your store will have it as availability will vary by location, this kind of savings may be worth driving over to find out.
