Harry Kane a doubt to face Greece after missing England training

Harry Kane is in a race against time to prove his fitness for Thursday's clash versus Greece after missing training on Tuesday.

The England captain was cleared to remain with the squad for the forthcoming Nations League fixtures despite suffering separate groin and ankle problems in Bayern Munich’s draw with Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.

But Kane missed Tuesday’s training session at St George’s Park, instead remaining indoors to work on an individualised programme.

It is understood Kane is not completely ruling out playing against Greece at Wembley on Thursday night and is taking his recovery day-by-day.

But if the 31-year-old does not train with his colleagues on Wednesday, then Kane would likely miss at least the start of the game against the Greeks.

England will wear all white against Greece, rekindling memories of their classic 2001 clash

England face Finland on Sunday, and Kane may be better placed to feature in Helsinki if he fails to make training on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, England will wear an all white strip on Wednesday night to rekindle memories of the unforgettable clash against Greece in 2001.

David Beckham scored with an iconic injury time free kick to send England to Euro 2002, with the team wearing white jersey, shorts and socks.

Generally, England a white top, blue shorts and white socks but will change tact on Thursday.

Greece will wear their classic all-blue strip, they same kit they wore in that epic clash at Old Trafford 23 years ago.
