'High maintenance' Erling Haaland has 'changed the food at Man City'

Kyle Walker has revealed how Erling Haaland is changing the focus on nutrition at Manchester City by attempting to get his team-mates to try two of his bizarre favourite foods.

The Norwegian is continuing to dominate the Premier League's goalscoring charts during his third season at the club with City top of the table helped by Haaland's 11 goals.

A stunning acrobatic finishwas the difference as City clinched a valuable 1-0 win over Southampton at the weekend to leapfrog Liverpool in the league standings and Pep Guardiola's squad are benefitting from his guidance off the pitch as well.

Despite being one of City's youngest players aged just 24-years-old, Haaland is a leader in the team and is always trying to find new ways to find an advantage over his opponent.

The superstar striker is always looking for a way to gain an edge and his diet consisting of unusual delicacies has been well-documented during his time at the reigning Premier League champions.

Haaland's quirky kitchen traits sees him use a innovative water filter to avoid drinking any impurities, down kale and spinach smoothies and is a lover of raw fish with the delicacy being a big part of Nordic diets.

Now, his team-mate and City full-back, Walker, has given a deeper insight into Haaland's love for unusual food and revealed two items the striker keeps bringing into training for everyone to try.

'High maintenance is Erling but in a good way. He is very professional but does like his treatments, massages, ice baths, his juice has to be right, he is just professional looking after his body,' Walker told his BBC podcast.

'The food has changed I can tell you that. Norwegian salmon he brings all that in and looks after the lads.

'He's got all his raw milk and everything like that. It's straight from the cow,' he added.

Walker hilariously didn't confirm whether his City colleagues had enjoyed trying Haaland's training treats but praised the goalscorer's approach to becoming one of the world's best players.

Haaland previously revealed how he flies salmon from Norway to the UK because the fish in England 'isn't up to scratch'.

The Norwegian is currently under contract at City until 2027 and will be in Paris on Monday evening for the yearly Ballon d'Or ceremony.

However, Haaland isn't favourite to lift the best player in the world crown with his City team-mate Rodri amongst the tipped candidates alongside Madrid duo Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jnr.
