Is this the unluckiest Champions League game EVER?

Girona and Feyenoord set an unwanted record as they played out an incredibly unlucky Champions League affair on Wednesday night.

The two sides met at the Estadi Municipal de Montilivi where the Dutch visitors triumphed 3-2 courtesy of two own goals and an Antoni Milambo strike.

If the two own goals weren't enough, there were also two missed penalties in the match. Feyenoord's Ayase Ueda missed from the spot in the first-half before Bojan Miovski missed for the hosts.

It's the first time in the competition's history that a two own goals and two missed penalties have occurred in a match.

Elsewhere in the match, former Man United player Donny van de Beek got on the scoresheet after being set up by Arnaut Danjuma for Girona.

It was the first goal for the ex-Red Devil since making the move to Spain after falling out of favour with Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Elsewhere in the match, Swiss identical twins Marco and Benjamin Zurcher were part of the officiating team that would have left some fans seeing double.

Clearly inseparable, the pair joined referee and compatriot Urs Schnyder as assistants at the Estadi Municipal de Montilivi in Girona this evening as the Dutch side earned a 3-2 win.

The siblings, both 38, work as linesmen in the Swiss Super League, Swiss Challenge League, the Nations League, and the Champions League and, unsurprisingly, often come as a duo.

Standing in the tunnel ahead of the match in Spain, the twins had their game faces on, sporting extremely similar expressions as they flanked Schnyder with the two sets of players standing behind.

On the pitch itself, Girona and Feyenoord put on an entertaining display in the second round of Champions League matches.
