Jackson tells former Chelsea star to 'shut your mouth' after scoring

Nicolas Jackson has told a former Chelsea star to 'shut your mouth' after finding the net against Wolves.

Jackson was criticised by the ex-Blues player for his performance in Chelsea's defeat against Manchester City last weekend.

Although Jackson was unable to find the net on that occasion, he netted after just two minutes as Chelsea won 6-2 against Wolves.

In an eventful game at Molineux, Matheus Cunha equalised for Wolves before Cole Palmer restored Chelsea's lead and Jorgen Strand Larsen then made it 2-2.

Noni Madueke then hit a hat-trick before Joao Felix netted late on as Chelsea prevailed.

Ex-Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel had criticised Jackson's finishing against City.

Speaking on beIN Sports, Mikel, who played for Chelsea between 2006 and 2017, said: 'We've played OK, we haven't played perfect, but we've played OK.

'We created chances, we haven't taken them. And just an example of how Jackson finishes.

'You can see there, even though he was offside, he dribble (past) one or two or three players and the way he shot the ball!'

Mikel continued: 'You need a striker who knows how to hit a ball back in the back of the net and that's what we don't have.

'I know I talk so much about him and sometimes I sound like I disrespect him. I don't disrespect him.

'I think at Chelsea Football Club we need a top striker who can get us a goal.

'A bit like (Haaland), 91 goals (for City) that's absolutely unbelievable.'

Jackson hit back at Mikel as he wrote on Instagram: '@Mikel_john_obi shut your mouth.

'Don't talk s***, we are killing ourselves for Africa.'

Jackson has received much criticism from pundits for his inconsistent performances since joining Chelsea from Villarreal last year.

In the ensuing period, Jackson has scored 17 goals in 45 appearances for Chelsea.

There have been suggestions that Chelsea could sign a striker before the transfer deadline, which could push Jackson further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

However, Jackson will hope that the impact that he made against Wolves will serve to further endear him to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.
