Jose Mourinho SLAMS 'disrespectful' Galatasaray after heavy defeat

Jose Mourinho revealed he didn't attend his post-match press conference after Fenerbahce's defeat by arch-rivals Galatasaray because he was 'disrespected'.

The iconic manager is currently at the start of his first season in Turkey and was furious after being beaten in one of the Super Lig's biggest fixture of the season.

Mourinho is already showing signs of anguish with the Turkish media's approach and blamed his dugout rival Okan Buruk as the reason for him not fulfilling his post-match media duties.

The former Chelsea, Man United and Real Madrid boss is used to dealing with strict timings when interacting with journalists in the Premier League and across Europe's top divisions.

But, Mourinho has never suffered fools lightly and has had several famous and often hilarious run-ins with media throughout his hugely successful career.

Galatasaray secured a huge 3-1 Super Lig victory over Mourinho's Fenerbahce side

After not turning up for his official post-match press conference, Mourinho slammed his opposite number for taking too long with his own interviews that the Portuguese claimed left him waiting 70 minutes.

The 3-1 home humbling against Galatasaray now widens the gap to the league leaders by five points.

An unhappy Mourinho moaned about the situation, stating: 'I have never avoided a press conference in my 24-year career. I have never been afraid of journalists and their questions.

'The coach who plays away goes first, it's normal, to be free. But there are limits! I waited 70 minutes and even after that I couldn't go, because his press conference continued. I can't wait 70, 75 or 80 minutes for a press conference.

'It had nothing to do with the result, just with something that is or is not correct. The same will happen in the next game, I'll go to the flash interview straight after the game, because that's the logic of flash interviews.

'It's not 20 minutes after the game, it's straight after. Then you wait 15 minutes, half an hour is normal. 70 minutes? Sorry, but that's disrespectful! If anyone felt disrespected, it was me,' he added.

Mourinho insisted he was made to wait '70 minutes' after the match before refusing to do a press conference

Mourinho made the shock move to the Turkish giants after being sacked by Roma in January, also turning down interest from Saudi Arabian sides in favour of staying in European football.

The 61-year-old will soon enjoy a reunion with former club Man United when Erik ten Hag's side travel to Turkey in the Europa League.
