Jude Bellingham is called out for 'going from 10 to ZERO' in Spain

Jude Bellingham has been slammed by the Spanish media after his goal drought for Real Madrid extended to 11 games at the weekend.

Bellingham, 21, enjoyed a stunning debut campaign at the Bernabeu in 2023-24 after his blockbuster move from Borussia Dortmund for an initial £88.5million fee.

The English star netted 23 goals and added 13 assists in just 42 matches as Real won LaLiga, the Champions League and the Spanish Super Cup.

However, Bellingham is yet to open his account this time around, with the midfielder having failed to score in nine matches in 2024-25, plus the final two games of 2023-24 - and the 21-year-old has subsequently been called out by Spanish paper Marca.

At the same point last season, Bellingham had 10 goals and Marca labelled the midfielder as 'going from 10 to zero in a year'.

The outlet also stuck the boot into Bellingham in relation to his 'open arms' celebration, something that became iconic during his debut campaign at the Bernabeu.

They added: 'Now he has crossed his arms and has not opened them again since May 14, the date of his last goal with Real Madrid.'

The report also went onto claim that Bellingham was struggling to deal with his lack of form, with it said that it is looking increasingly unlikely the midfielder will get anywhere near his goal tally from last year.

During Real's 2-1 win over Celta Vigo at the weekend, the outlet noted Bellingham's 'monumental anger' with Vinicius Jnr when the Brazilian failed to pass to him during the game.

It added: 'The Englishman vehemently reproached him', although Real boss Carlo Ancelotti did pour cold water on reports of any problems after the match.

The Italian said: 'I haven't seen him, but if he got angry it's because he has b*lls and character.

'After the game I saw them laughing, I don't think they'll have any problems.'

Meanwhile, Marca also claimed that Bellingham had been 'eclipsed' by the arrival of Kylian Mbappe over the summer.

The Frenchman - who has already netted eight times in all competitions - is said to have 'stolen the goals that the Englishman had last season at this point'.

In Bellingham's defence, the signing of Mbappe has meant he has played in a slightly deeper role than in 2023-24, something which has impacted his goal return.

Bellingham's frustrations were compounded against Stuttgart in the Champions League when he was set to take a penalty after Antonio Rudiger was fouled.

Mbappe and Vinicius Jnr had shared the previous four spot kicks, with Bellingham joining the penalty-taking group this time around.

However, the spot kick was ultimately overturned by VAR, meaning the 21-year-old's drought continued.

Elsewhere, fellow Spanish outlet Diario Sport was also hugely critical of Bellingham, claiming 'far away is the memory of that player who, with freedom to approach the area, signed some spectacular figures'.

It is also claimed that Bellingham 'has gone from being the absolute star of Real Madrid to acting in a more secondary role', with it highlighted how he is struggling to impact the game as much from a deeper position.

This has similarly seen Vinicius Jnr and Mbappe have a more prominent part in Madrid's attacks with Diario Sport further explaining the stark impact this has had on Bellingham.

The report said: 'Although Bellingham has shown the ability to combine with them in a masterful way, the Englishman is totally overshadowed by his team-mates in the game.'

While there is still plenty of time for Bellingham to kickstart his season, Marca reflected on the overall situation he finds himself in.

The report added: 'Bellingham is still waiting for the moment to come when he can open his arms again to perform his iconic celebration after a goal.

'Ancelotti has removed him from the position in which he triumphed last season and the Englishman is not shining in the same way.'

Real currently sit second in LaLiga, three points behind Barcelona, while they have a win and a loss from their first two Champions League games this season.

Ancelotti's side return to action on Tuesday when they face Borussia Dortmund, before the first El Clasico of the campaign takes place on Saturday evening.
