Kane picks £82k company car as Bayern stars choose from new Audi range

The company cars chosen by Bayern Munich's stars have been revealed, with Harry Kane upgrading on the model he chose last season.

Picking a car from sponsor Audi's range has become an annual tradition at Bayern, and it was no different this year as the players got their choice from a range of electric vehicles.

This time he opted for an Audi SQ8 SUV e-tron2, which is valued at €98,000 (£82,000).

That proved to be a popular option, with manager Vincent Kompany and Eric Dier along with German internationals Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich also choosing it.

But it was far from the most expensive car on offer. The RS e-tron GT in Nimbus Grey, which costs €145,000 (£121,000) was picked by four of Kane's team-mates - Thomas Muller, Alphonso Davies, Leon Goretzka and Raphael Guerreiro.

Meanwhile, rising star Jamal Musiala plumped for a Q6 e-tron, Mythos Black Metallic, that is priced at £50,000.

Bayern's players and coaching staff posed for a group photo at the Audi garage as they enjoyed a day out just weeks into the new season.

They were also pictured smiling as they were handed over the keys to their new cars.

Speaking about the players getting an electric vehicle each, Chief Financial Officer Michael Diederich said: 'Sustainability is important to us at FC Bayern, and as a club with our millions of fans around the world, we want to set a positive example when it comes to electromobility.'

The players appear to have been kept happy off the pitch, and have also made a positive start to the campaign under new manager Kompany on it.

Bayern are top of the Bundesliga after picking up 14 points from their opening six matches, racking up a +13 goal difference along the way.

Kane has been at the heart of their success, scoring five goals and registering six assists in six league outings.

He also netted four goals in a 9-2 thrashing of Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League last month.

However, Bayern did lose their second European match 1-0 to Aston Villa, as they suffered their first major setback with Kompany at the helm.

The German giants return to action on Saturday when they host Stuttgart before travelling to Barcelona next Wednesday for their third Champions League fixture.
