Lamine Yamal breaks ANOTHER record as Barca teen shines in El Clasico

With the game 0-0 at half time, the visitors turned it on in the second half with Robert Lewandowski scoring twice, Yamal adding a third and Raphinha finishing off the scoring six minutes from time.

It was a game that left potentially more questions than answers when it comes to the future of both clubs, but no one is scratching their heads when it come the the ability of winger Yamal.

After he netted in one of the most highly-anticipated games of the season, he again etched his name into history as he became the youngest-ever goal scorer in El Clasico at 17 years and 105 days.

The victory took Barca six points clear at the top of LaLiga as Madrid lost for the first time this season

The teenage sensation broke the record set by Ansu Fati, who scored against Madrid in 2020 aged 17 years and 359 days.

The goal came in Yamal's fourth taste of the fixture, having burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old last season, but Saturday marked the first time he had scored in the tie.

The record is just the latest in a long list that Yamal, who was born in July 2007, has broken.

He is the youngest player to have started a LaLiga game, which came when he lined up for Barca in the 2023-24 season against Cadiz at 16 years and 38 days old. And just a few days later, he became the youngest player to provide an assist in LaLiga.

He is also the youngest Barca player to debut in the Champions League, the youngest starter in the history of the Champions League, the youngest player to register a Champions League assist and the youngest player to win a major international trophy.

There are a number of other records that Yamal has broken listed on Barcelona's club website, including being the youngest-ever player to play in the Champions League knockouts and being the youngest player to feature in a European Championship final.

It is expected that he will kick on and achieve plenty in his career, having already won the Euros with Spain in the summer.

The winger is also not short on confidence. 'We believe we are the best team in the world,' he said after the win over Madrid. 'They said we were beating only normal teams, now we beat Real Madrid 4-0 at their home'.
