LISTEN to It's All Kicking Off!: Chris Sutton opens up on his arrest

In the summer of 1994, Chris Sutton was widely regarded as one of the most promising attacking talents in British football.

During the previous campaign, he netted 25 Premier League goals for Norwich in a season where they also recorded a historic upset by knocking Bayern Munich out of the UEFA Cup.

As one of the hottest properties available in the transfer market, many of the Premier League's top clubs were keeping tabs on the striker, then aged just 21.

It was an ambitious Blackburn side, managed by Sir Kenny Dalglish, who ultimately secured his signature that summer - paying an English-record £5million to bring him to Ewood Park.

While his time in Lancashire would prove an immediate success, Sutton revealed to co-host Ian Ladyman on the latest episode of It's All Kicking Off! that his arrival at the club came amid slightly less auspicious circumstances.

'I was arrested the night before my move to Blackburn,' Sutton explained. 'I did get a little bit excited.'
