Liverpool boss Arne Slot hails the stars left to him by Jurgen Klopp

Arne praised his ‘special’ Liverpool stars after the Dutchman marked his Anfield debut with a 2-0 win over Brentford yesterday.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring after a slick breakaway that started with a Brentford corner. 

He then turned provider as he teed up Mohamed Salah for the Egyptian’s second goal of the season after the break.

A delighted Slot gushed over the players left by predecessor Jurgen Klopp. ‘It’s nice to inherit a team and individuals who are so special,’ said the manager, who gave the Kop a thumbs up and a wave at the end.

He added: ‘Every manager who comes in here feels the warmth of this club, the appreciation of the fans, and the most important thing we as managers have to do is make the team play in the style they like to see. That’s what we are trying.’
