Liverpool admire Juventus forward Federico Chiesa and are exploring whether to make a late bid to sign the Italian this week.
Nothing is advanced at this stage but the Reds are aware that Chiesa is available and they are exploring whether to make a play to bring him to England.
New boss Arne Slot has won his first two Premier League matches but the club have been quiet on the transfer front with the deadline rapidly approaching.
Liverpool are weighing up moving for Juventus forward Federico Chiesa this week
Chiesa is not part of Thiago Motta's project in Turin and Juventus are actively seeking solutions for the Italy international as they look to offload him.
The 26-year-old has just one year left on his deal and may not command a substantial fee.
It is understood he had been in talks over a move to Barcelona after being left out of the Juventus squad for their final three pre-season friendlies earlier this month.
Chiesa joined the Old Lady from Fiorentina in a deal worth just over £40million in the summer of 2022, having spent the previous two seasons on loan there.
He scored 10 goals and registered three assists in 37 games last campaign and was part of the Italy squad that were knocked out of Euro 2024 in the last-16.
But after becoming one of several first-team players frozen out by Motta, Chiesa is now expected to move on over the coming days.
'We were clear internally,' Motta said. 'We spoke with each of them.
'We've got good players who are used to playing regularly.
'The club is trying to find solutions for them and, for their own good and the good of everyone, they too have to find solutions as soon as possible.'
