Man City star delivers two-word response to Osimhen's loan move

The Napoli striker touched down in Istanbul during the early hours of Tuesday morning and is reportedly set to undergo medical tests ahead of the surprise move.

The wantaway striker was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea throughout the summer transfer window, with a move to the Premier League his 'dream', but the Blues could not get the deal done.

Galatasaray then confirmed that they were in talks with the Italian giants for the acquisition of Osimhen on Monday night.

Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that the striker was travelling to Istanbul and to the surprise of some, Gundogan offered a response in the comment section.

Man City star Ilkay Gundogan has weighed in on Victor Osimhen's loan move to Galatasaray

Gundogan, who made a return to City after a season-long stint at Barcelona, wrote: 'Wow... crazy' with a range of emojis accompanying his Instagram comment.

While Gundogan's links to the move may seem confusing, he previously revealed that his family are Galatasaray fans, except his mum.

Speaking to The Players Tribune in 2021: 'Whenever a Turkish team played in Europe, my family would stop whatever they were doing. They would cheer on the team like their lives depended on it.

'I'll never forget when Galatasaray won the UEFA Cup in 2000. We were all watching the final together, and when we beat Arsenal on penalties, my uncle Ilhan, who is six years older than me, actually broke down in tears.'

It was reported on Tuesday that a bizarre clause has been inserted into Osimhen's Galatasaray loan deal.

The Nigerian international will sign a one-year loan deal with the Turkish giants, but reports have now claimed there is a unique clause inserted in his contract.

According to Turkish outlet A Spor, Osimhen has asked for a break clause in his contract which applies to a total of 10 specific clubs.

If any of the unnamed teams submit an offer in January, he will therefore have permission to leave.

The outlet also claim that Osimhen has asked that his release clause be reduced from £109million to £63million, as he looks to engineer a permanent move.

Osimhen's deadline day move to Turkey came after he was excluded from Napoli's list of players for the 2024-25 campaign due to his relationship with the club being 'broken'.
