Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool PLAYER RATINGS

Arne Slot's Liverpool clinched another encouraging pre-season win to round off their United States tour, beating Manchester United 3-0 in South Carolina.

Fabio Carvalho scored in the 10th minute for Liverpool and Curtis Jones then doubled the lead towards the end of the first half. Kostas Tsimikas got the third, bundling home from close range.

Mail Sport's Lewis Steele was on hand in South Carolina and you can read his player ratings below.

Fabio Carvalho celebrates his opening goal as Liverpool beat Manchester United

LIVERPOOL (4-3-3)

Caoimhin Kelleher - 8

Must be disheartening knowing he can play out of his skin in pre-season but Alisson will just walk back into the team on the opening day. Kelleher made several big stops in the first half here to deny Mount and Rashford on multiple occasions. Edges man of the match award.

Conor Bradley - 7.5

A revealing moment midway through the first half when Slot punched the air in frustration after Bradley cleared the ball out for a throw-in when he might have been calmer in possession. Another excellent night though, the highlight being his role in Liverpool’s third.

Jarell Quansah - 7

Was skipped past too easily by Rashford on the halfway line in the first half but Quansah has been one of the main positives of the tour overall. Staking a claim to start the Premier League opener against Ipswich.

Ibrahima Konate - 6

First appearance under Slot and, despite some heavy touches in a shaky start, the Frenchman settled well. The emergence of Quansah puts his starting spot in danger but this week will be crucial in proving himself to the new boss .

Kostas Tsimikas - 7.5

Started three games on this jaunt to America and, despite being at fault for Arsenal’s goal in Philadelphia, the Greek has played well. Was in the right place at the right time to score Liverpool’s third after a lovely team move.

Kostas Tsimikas scored the third goal for Liverpool and has, overall, impressed under Slot

Curtis Jones, who is loving life with Arne Slot as coach, scored Liverpool's second vs United

Curtis Jones - 6.5

Told last week how he was loving life under new boss Slot and feels that this system suits him perfectly. Has had a few loose touches in all three matches but, overall, this has been a great fortnight for Jones, who scored here after a lung-busting run into the box.

Ryan Gravenberch - 7

His first outing of the tour after joining up with the squad in Philadelphia. This is a big season for the Dutchman after an inconsistent first year in the Premier League. Played in a more deeper-lying role than usual here and put in a good shift on and off the ball.

Mohamed Salah - 7.5

Almost feels a moot point to say as we are used to it but this was another spellbinding display from Salah. The Egyptian was a constant menace on the right wing for Liverpool.

Harvey Elliott - 7.5

Perhaps the biggest positive from the tour overall with three excellent performances, the latter two especially. Elliott looks a class act in the No 10 position, always getting on the ball and driving through midfield. Only criticism is he sometimes held on to it for too long.

Harvey Elliott has enjoyed a brilliant tour for Liverpool and had another great display here

Fabio Carvalho - 7

CERTAINLY staking his claim to stick around and be part of Liverpool’s plans this season. His finish was nice but the turn to skip past Casemiro was even better. Great tour overall but, if being picky, he sometimes fades out of games.

Diogo Jota - 7

KEPT the ball alive for Liverpool’s opener when United’s defenders had gone to sleep. Would be a surprise if he was not the No 9 in the first Premier League game of the season, though Darwin Nunez is due back on Merseyside this week.

MANCHESTER UNITED (4-3-3)

Andre Onana - 6

COULD do little about Liverpool’s first two goals but fumbled the third when he parried Jota’s shot straight to Tsimikas. His distribution was good but often let down by static defenders in front of him.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 6

MADE some good runs forward and was unlucky with both goals. For the first, the ball deflected in off his boot and, for Jones’ second, he was inches away from an inspired interception.

Victor Lindelof - 5

NEW season, same defensive problems for United. Struggled to cope with Liverpool’s fast forwards who constantly popped up in space.

Jonny Evans - 5

CAN copy and paste the above. Evans, now 36, is not one of United’s starting defenders but will certainly be needed given the injury to new signing Lenny Yoro.

Harry Amass - 6

HAS had a very pleasing pre-season and will be in contention to start next weekend’s Community Shield final. Had a tough night up against Salah here, though.

Casemiro - 4

WAY past his best as we have known for some years now. Was beaten far too easily for Liverpool’s opener, when Carvalho sold him a dummy. Too slow.

Toby Collyer - 6

SEEMED to cover every blade of grass as a box-to-box midfielder. Certainly giving Ten Hag an option ahead of the new season.

Amad Diallo - 6.5

HAS had a very promising tour for United and showed some flashy moments here. Clearly in a confident mood ahead of the new season. Darted past Van den Berg in the second half. End product let him down slightly here.

Mason Mount - 7

A DECENT performance from the Englishman, playing just behind striker Sancho. Could have scored two in the first 15 minutes but saw efforts well saved.

Marcus Rashford - 7

UNITED’S brightest spark, especially in the first half. Playing off the left, he skipped past Quansah and looked like a constant livewire. Saw a couple of efforts well saved by Kelleher early on.

Jadon Sancho - 6

PLAYED as a No 9 and had some nice touches, though also some careless losses in possession. Glanced a header wide with a gilt-edged chance from six yards out. Looked tired towards the end.

Rhys Bennett (for Lindelof 46)

Will Fish (for Evans 46)
