Paul Pogba due for talks with Juventus over ending contract

Mail Sport exclusively revealed on Friday that Pogba's initial four year doping ban was reduced by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to just 18 months meaning he can recommence playing competitive football in March. Pogba can restart training in January.

But it is understood that Pogba is likely to continue his career away from Juve with the expectation that he will reach a mutual agreement with the Turin club to cut his contract, which expires in June 2026, short.

Once his release has been confirmed, Pogba will focus on finding a new club.

Despite the heartache of his drugs ban, Pogba continues to love the game and is determined to get his playing days back on track.

Mail Sport exclusively revealed on Friday that Pogba's initial four year doping ban was reduced, meaning he can play from March 2025

While Pogba holds Juve, his team-mates and Turin close to his heart, it is understood that he feels a fresh start would be best for him and his family.

The previous 12 months has been tough emotionally for the 31-year-old and there is a feeling that a clean break from would be beneficial.

Pogba plans to watch the France national team during the international break and is eager to reconnect with head coach Didier Deschamps, who has been a pillar of strength to the midfielder during his ordeal.

The former Manchester United man isn't giving up in his international career and will work hard to play for France again.

The France Football Federation have been supportive of Pogba during his suspension and posted a video of him in the team's famous colours to reinforce their backing.

CAS will officially announce their verdict from Pogba's appeal on Monday.

But as we revealed, the World Cup winner's original suspension, that commenced on September 11, 2023, will end in March 2024.

His original £4,179 fine has also been set aside.

It was confirmed that Pogba did inadvertently take DHEA, which boosts testosterone but has an affect on females

Pogba was facing potential retirement from football had CAS upheld his four year suspension.

In CAS' final judgement it was confirmed that Pogba did inadvertently take DHEA, a substance that boosts testosterone that is on WADA's banned list.

Crucially, however, the ruling states that DHEA on has an affect on females.

Pogba's appeal took place at CAS' HQ in Switzerland at the end of August and the player has only recently been informed of the verdict.

The former Manchester United midfielder was hit with the ban after featuring for Juventus in their opening game of the 203/24 season against Udinese on August 20.
