Chelsea's latest young signing Renato Veiga says patience is needed amid their stumbling start to pre-season, with Saturday's 4-1 loss to Celtic sparking concern among some supporters.
Veiga, 20, is one of a few youngsters not yet sure if he will leave on loan.
Manager Enzo Maresca wants to use this tour of the United States to see which of the junior players can hack being in his first-team squad.
A draw with Wrexham and a defeat by Celtic mean Maresca is still waiting for his first win as Chelsea boss, but Veiga says there is no need to panic.
'In every football game you want to win,' he said. 'Chelsea especially has to win every game. But we are in pre-season.
'The most important thing is the process, the connection between each other. When the time comes (to play the first Premier League game versus Manchester City) on August 18, that is when it counts and when we have to win for sure.'
On why he signed for Chelsea from Basel for £12million, Veiga added: 'How can you say no to Chelsea?
'For me they are the biggest club in England. They have a very ambitious project, not only for the present but the future as well.
'Right now the most important thing is the present and I am very happy to be here.'

On whether he is expecting to be loaned out, he said: 'I signed for Chelsea, I am very happy to be here and enjoying it day by day.
'We will see at the end of pre-season or after the market closes (what happens). I am enjoying my time here. I feel the trust from the manager and my colleagues. I just want to do my best and we will see of course.'
