Rival fans left shocked by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's appearance

Arsenal posted a video in which Arsenal boss Arteta previewed the upcoming season.

However, many users were quick to comment on how Arteta looked noticeably different in the video.

One user wrote: 'Who is this and what has he done with Arteta?'.

Fans have been left stunned by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta's appearance in a new video

Some users suggested that the image had been generated by AI.

One user wrote: 'Mikel AI-teta', while another simply wrote: 'AI'.

Another user commented that Arteta looked like he had 'been stung by a bee'.

There were also jokes that Arteta resembled the depiction of a player from old video games. One fan wrote: 'Is this him in FIFA 98?', while another added: 'Looks like FIFA 2010 career mode cut scene'.

Arsenal are currently in the USA as they continue their preparations for the new campaign.

Arteta's side drew 1-1 with Bournemouth before prevailing on penalties. They have further friendlies to come against Manchester United and Liverpool.

Defender Riccardo Calafiori is poised to join the Gunners from Bologna for £42million as Arteta looks to add to his squad ahead of the new season.
