Investing in a new laptop is never the cheapest endeavor. That's why when a sale like this one from Amazon subsidiary Woot takes place, it's well worth highlighting. The online retailer has kicked off its new offers on plenty of excellent laptops from top brands like Alienware, LG, Razer and such with more than $500 in discounts available. Whether it's for playing video games, using for high school classes or for day-to-day business use, there's bound to be something that fits your specifications. Just note that these deals are due to end at 12 a.m. CST on Oct 21, and some models have already sold out.

Take this Acer Nitro 16 gaming laptop for instance, which is down from $978 to $810. That 17% discount means you can get the machine with an RTX 4050 graphics card for $178 less than usual. It also sports a 16-inch screen capable of 165Hz, an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, 8GB of RAM as well as a 512GB of SSD storage and a four-zone RGB backlit keyboard. This model will play the latest games for years to come -- we even have it featured as one of the best cheap gaming laptops on the market today.

Alternatively, if you want to go the budget route, this Asus Vivobook is down to $255. That's a $45 saving from its typical $300 price point. It has everything you need to do the basics with an AMD Ryzen 3 processor, AMD Radeon graphics card, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD storage and a 15.6-inch FHD screen. It's slim, light and compact, so ideal for travel.
