Carries Sweetpea in the UK

Sky Atlantic and Now TV

British actress Ella Purnell has recently become something of a staple on TV thanks to standout performances in Fallout, Yellowjackets and Arcane. Now, she's set to show yet another side of her talent in the pitch-black comedic drama Sweetpea, coming soon to Starz.

Adapted from C.J. Skuse's cult-favorite novels, Sweetpea follows Purnell as Rhiannon Lewis, a timid office receptionist fed up with being constantly overlooked and mistreated.

A series of personal tragedies brings matters to a head, with Rhiannon finding her voice by unexpectedly descending into a dangerously satisfying world of murder -- gaining newfound power while struggling to keep her grisly crimes hidden from the police.

Alongside Purnell, the six-episode miniseries cast includes Nicôle Lecky, Jon Pointing and Ted Lasso star Jeremy Swift.

Here's how to stream Sweetpea without a cable or satellite subscription.

How to watch Sweetpea with a VPN

Maybe you're traveling abroad and want to stream Starz or Sky while away from home. With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to TV shows and movies from anywhere in the world. There are other good reasons to use a VPN for streaming, too.

Using a VPN is the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds, as it encrypts your traffic. Using a VPN while traveling also adds an extra layer of privacy to your devices and logins on public Wi-Fi networks. Plus, streaming TV can be smoother with a reliable, quality VPN that's passed our tests and security standards.

You can use a VPN to stream content legally as long as VPNs are legal in your country and you have a valid subscription to the streaming service you're using. The US and Canada are among the countries where VPNs are legal, but we advise against streaming or downloading content on illegal torrent sites. We recommend ExpressVPN, but you may opt for another provider from our best list, such as Surfshark or NordVPN.

James Martin/CNET

ExpressVPN is our current best VPN pick for people who want a reliable and safe VPN, and it works on a variety of devices. It's normally $13 a month. But you can save 49%, plus get three months of access for free -- the equivalent of $6.67 a month -- if you get an annual subscription. Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Follow the VPN provider's instructions for installation and choose a country where Sweetpea will be streaming on Starz. Before you open the streaming app, make sure you're connected to your VPN using your selected region. If you want to stream the series on more than one device, it's possible you'll need to configure each one to ensure you're signed in. Go to settings and check your network connections to verify you're logged in and connected to your VPN account. Now, you're ready to open Starz to stream.

If you run into issues with streaming, make sure your VPN is up and running on its encrypted IP address. Double-check that you've followed installation instructions correctly and picked the right geographical area for viewing. If you still encounter connection problems, you may need to reboot your device. Close all apps and windows, restart your device and connect to your VPN first. Note that some streaming services restrict VPN access.
