Swimlane enhances Hero AI with advance case summarization and AI-augmented reporting

Low-code security automation company Swimlane LLC today announced new features in its Hero AI offering that allow security teams to take decisive action against complex cases, alerts and intelligence.

They include expanded case summarization capabilities with context-aware recommendations informed by cybersecurity frameworks and a customer’s own knowledge-based best practices. Artificial intelligence-driven case summaries and recommended actions are now included in AI-augmented post-incident reporting, instantly available in any language, to ensure global collaboration across teams, stakeholders and clients.

The new features seek to address the well-known issue of staffing shortages in cybersecurity, which Swimlane argues often forces security operations center teams to rely on expensive contractors, straining already tight security budgets.

Key updates to Hero AI include context-aware recommended actions, which enhance advanced case summarization using cybersecurity frameworks like the National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework and MITRE ATT&CK, along with customer insights, allowing for concise, context-aware recommendations to resolve active cases or incidents.

Another update is AI-augmented reporting, enabling one-click preparation of stakeholder-ready after-action reports. The company says the feature saves time and help security leaders communicate seamlessly, irrespective of the stakeholder’s technical skill level or language, with instant translation capabilities.

Hero AI also now supports multilingual reporting and documentation, translating Swimlane knowledge center documentation and after-action reports into any language, ensuring global support for managed security service providers and accessible information for all team members and clients.

“As AI transforms the business landscape, security operations centers must adapt from traditional manual processes or be left behind,” said Chief Executive James Brear. “Swimlane recognizes this urgency and has spearheaded the development of a next-generation AI-enhanced security automation solution. Our technology is purpose-built to address the unique threat challenges and harness the immense potential of intelligent automation within the modern SOC.”

Swimlane was previously in the news in May when it announced Swimlane Marketplace, a full-stack modular marketplace for security automation. Swimlane Marketplace was designed to empower organizations to streamline security operations across any technology stack or use case with bespoke solutions.

The venture capital-backed startup has raised $159 million over nine rounds, according to data from Tracxn, including a round of $70 million in July 2022. Investors in the company include Activate Capital Partners LP, Energy Impact Partners LP and 3Lines Venture Capital.
