Well, that didn't take long. Less than three weeks after a bombshell announcement that Robert Downey, Jr. will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe not as Iron Man but as villain Doctor Doom, Fortnite is spotlighting the famous villain in its latest update.
Fornite's Battle Royale Chapter 5 Season 4, dubbed Absolute Doom, will bring the reign of Doom to the game in an update that also includes costumes for Marvel characters such as Shuri as Black Panther, The Fantastic Four and War Machine, as well as an iconic item that is also returning to movie screens: Captain America's shield.
A trailer released on Aug. 10 showed off some of Doctor Doom's fearsome weaponry, plus Cap's shield, and characters including Mysterio, Cyclops from X-Men '97, and Peelverine, the banana-shaped Peely character dressed as Wolverine. A Peelverine Plush Back Bling item unlocks with the new update for those who earned access to it by watching an earlier livestream event.
Some of the new emotes in the update include Jubilee's fireworks and Cyclops's eye beam.
As is typical with Battle Royale updates, the Battle Pass to play Absolute Doom costs 950 V-Bucks or about $7.50 in real-world dollars.
Peely was already yellow, so Wolverine's yellow outfit was a perfect choice.

The Mandalorian Battle Pass skins and items are already available, but the other Disney skins are scheduled for fall 2024.
