Thiago Silva's wife Belle gets emotional as she clears out private box

Thiago Silva's wife, Belle, has helped clear out the defender's box at Chelsea following his departure from the club.

Silva left the Blues on a free transfer at the end of last season after making 155 appearances in four years since joining from PSG.

Now 39, he has joined Fluminense in his native Brazil, with wife Belle, who has regularly shared her thoughts on her husband's career, going with him.

Belle shared snaps of Stamford Bridge on her Instagram account on Wednesday afternoon, with the post captioned 'end of an era' as she helped clear Silva's box - which ordinarily costs £91,000 per person - inside the ground.

In the video, items included Silva lifting the Club World Cup with Chelsea, as she approached a door to a box before entering.

Inside were three other people, with one person saying to the camera: 'I know, the end of an era.'

The second clip was captioned: 'Bye bye box 23,' as Belle filmed the Stamford Bridge pitch before showing off a number of other pictures that had been taken out.

Some showed the veteran with his wife and children, while others featured some action shots from his time at the Blues.

Silva joined the club in 2020 from French giants PSG, having also previously spent three years at AC Milan.

He also made 113 appearances for the Brazil national team - the fifth-most behind Cafu, Neymar, Roberto Carlos and Dani Alves respectively.

During his time with Chelsea, Silva won the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the Super Cup.

He has already played six times for Fluminense in Brazil, with his Chelsea career coming to a sour end with a number of heavy defeats and Belle becoming involved with some of her outspoken opinions.

In April, she posted three emojis representing see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil following a 5-0 defeat by Arsenal, in which Silva played just 12 minutes.

After a 4-2 loss against Wolves, meanwhile, she posted to social media: 'It's time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late,' leading to fans suggesting she was calling for manager Mauricio Pochettino to be sacked.

She later apologised, posting: 'I'm sorry that my personal outburst as a passionate Chelsea fan has caused such an impact. I'm passionate about the team, I thrive on victories and I'm saddened by defeats.

'We all want the same thing, a winning team, come on Chelsea!!'

The couple married in 2005.
