Thomas Tuchel 'in negotiations to become next England manager'

Thomas Tuchel is reportedly in negotiations to become the next manager of England.

The German has been out of work since leaving Bayern Munich since leaving Bayern at the end of last season.

He has been touted as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag at Manchester United during that time but German outletBild claim he's now edging towards the England job.

Lee Carsley is currently in charge on the Three Lions on an interim basis following the departure of Gareth Southgate,

England slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Greece in the Nations League on Thursday night, intensifying calls for a major managerial appointment.

Bild say Tuchel is currently in talks to take the role and he has previously made oit clear he is open to international management.

Speaking in 2022, he said: "Yeah, why not? I would, I would. I did not give too much thought to it until now.

'But I would consider if it is the right team and if it has the potential to win trophies like the World Cup and the Euros.'

Tuchel is well known to England supporters having managed Chelsea for 17 months between 2021 and 2022.

While in west London, Tuchel lifted the Champions League in his first season at the club. The German also won the Club World Cup during his spell in the English capital.

Tuchel left Bayern in the summer but the club considered a U-turn before appointing Vincent Kompany.
