Ubisoft reveals Star Wars Outlaws PC requirements, all listed using upscaling

In context: Star Wars Outlaws is just a few weeks away from launch, and Ubisoft has released the complete PC requirements for the game. The good news is that playing at 1080p with high settings isn't too demanding. However, moving up to 1440p and 4K will require more powerful hardware. However, all the specs are listed with upscaling enabled.

An update on the Ubisoft store page reveals the full PC requirements for what the company calls the first ever open-world Star Wars game. The good news for those with lower-end PCs is that the game will run on at least an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-8700K combined with a GeForce GTX 1660 (6 GB), AMD RX 5600XT (6 GB), Intel Arc A750 (8 GB, with ReBAR on). Note that this kind of rig will only manage 30fps at 1080p with low graphics presets.

Moving up to the recommended specs, Ubisoft says an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or Intel Core i5-10400 will suffice, along with an RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB), AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12 GB) or better. The RTX 3060 Ti is the fourth most-popular GPU among Steam survey participants, so plenty of people should be covered at this level. You'll be able to play at 1080p with high graphical presets at this level.

Those with a 1440p monitor who want the high-settings/60fps experience need an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or Intel Core i5-11600K combined with a GeForce RTX 3080 (10 GB)/GeForce RTX 4070 (12GB), or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (16 GB) or better.

Finally, playing in 4K at 60fps with Ultra settings requires at least an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D or Intel Core i7-12700K. As for the graphics card, you'll need a GeForce RTX 4080 (16 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX (24 GB) or better.

All levels require at least 16 GB of dual-channel RAM and 65 GB of free SSD space (no HDDs).

The caveat here is that Ubisoft lists each setting as being upscaled (Quality settings), which is 1080p upscaled from 720p, 1440p upscaled from 960p, and 4K upscaled from 1440p.

Companies listing games with upscaling is becoming a common sight. When Remnant II was released last year, developer Gunfire Games said it was designed to be used with DLSS, FSR, and XeSS as standard, making it the first PC game "designed with upscaling in mind."

Star Wars Outlaws launches on August 30 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
