UiPath partner ecosystem aims to embrace generative AI and new skills

UiPath Inc. has been spending this week at UiPath Forward 2024 outlining its vision to orchestrate gen AI agents and robots as part of its platform. As Daniel Dines, founder and chief executive officer of UiPath, has explained, it’s all part of starting act two of UiPath, which includes changes for the UiPath partner ecosystem.

When it comes to the UiPath partner ecosystem, it means ensuring that partners are trained and skilled. It’s also important to understand what the customer issues are, according to Pradeep Kumar (pictured, right), senior vice president of technology services at UiPath.

Bronwyn Hastings, senior vice president of global partners and ecosystems at UiPath, discussed the UiPath partner ecosystem during UiPath Forward 2024

UiPath’s Bronwyn Hastings discusses the UiPath partner ecosystem.

“Some of these things are not identified yet. I think it’s known versus the unknown,” Kumar said. “The unknown is difficult, right?”

Kumar and Bronwyn Hastings (left), senior vice president of global partners and ecosystems at UiPath, spoke with theCUBE Research’s Dave Vellante and co-host Rebecca Knight at UiPath Forward 2024, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the evolving role of generative AI in automation and the need for partner empowerment to navigate the shifting landscape of customer demands. (* Disclosure below.)

UiPath partner ecosystem demands

What UiPath is looking for is partners that have leaned in and are getting a knowledge base that will allow all involved to go to the future, according to Hastings. At the moment, the company has a number of partners that are grounded in robotic process automation.

“Right now, when you look at the vision and what they’re seeing as an exciting opportunity, there’s a little bit of apprehension with these partners, because now they’ve got to build a whole new skill set,” she said. “What makes a good partner right now are ones that are actually looking at that vision and leaning into the knowledge sets that are required to move them forward.”

The second thing to consider is to meet companies where they are on the journey, according to Hastings. Generative AI may have introduced elements to companies they don’t quite know how to apply yet.

“How do our partner base meet a customer where they are, but have enough of the knowledge set to actually walk them through and be their advisor to that direction?, she asked. “There’s lot in the partner base right now that they may be little bit apprehensive about, too.”
