Labor Day sales have long since come and gone, taking all the can't-miss deals with them, but thankfully, Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days event is now closer than you think. That means we're about to be awash in new discounts you'll want to jump on while they're piping hot. You can expect significant price cuts, flash sales and more across the entirety of the retailer's marketplace. Best of all, there are already plenty of pre-Prime Day deals you can shop right now. All you have to do is start shopping.

Ever since Amazon started Prime Day in 2015, bargain hunters and savvy shoppers have eagerly anticipated this annual event. This sale event historically takes place in the summer. The company does have other sales throughout the year, including the more widely known Prime Day in July and a new Big Spring Sale that took both place earlier this year.

If you're at the edge of your seat waiting for Amazon's next Prime Day sale, don't worry; you won't have to wait much longer. The sale will be taking place in just a few weeks, with some exclusive offers available only to Prime members. We also expect other retail giants to offer competing sales of their own, like Walmart. We'll keep you updated on the best sales from other retailers as well. To make sure you're ready to go, we will also cover all the essentials, from how to prepare for the big event to preventing porch pirates, along with the secret way to score great deals without paying for Prime.

Amazon has announced that the iteration of October Prime Big Deal Days will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and Wednesday, Oct. 9, this year. We'll be keeping our fingers on the pulse of the upcoming sale, and you can count on us to keep you updated as any new information is released.

In the past, some discounts were released earlier than the main sale to entice customers. If there is another early price drop sale before the event's arrival, we'll be sure to keep you informed of that too, so organized shoppers can jump ahead of the crowd for top tech deals and all those back-to-school, summertime and household necessities.

Amazon deals to shop now

You don't have to wait to cash in on big savings, though. Check out these hot deals that are live now.

Some of these deals are still available, even to people who aren't Prime members, and they're a preview of what's to come.

Prime Big Deal Days brings with it the year's best discounts on Amazon's own hardware like smart speakers and home security products. Ahead of the main event, Prime members can score up to 58% off its range of Echo smart speakers, Blink and Ring cameras, Fire TV Sticks, Eero routers and more.

Samsung makes some of the highest-quality Android products on the market right now. If you've been looking for an upgrade you can currently score discounts of up to 32% on cases, smartwatches, tablets and more before the frenzy of Prime Big Deal Days.

These Beats Solo3 wireless headphones are perfect for work calls, binging sessions and more. They feature plush cushions, have a battery life of up to 40 hours and include an Apple W1 chip. Amazon is selling these for $80 off right now, but they're not your cup of tea there are plenty of already-live Beats deals.

Roku streaming sticks are one of the most budget-friendly ways to stream your favorite services and watch your online content. Rather than buying an expensive TV, you can simply get one of these devices, connect it to your Wi-Fi and look through your options. Amazon is offering discounts on multiple kinds of streaming sticks, including 4K streaming sticks that let you watch crisp, clear images. Savings amount to as much as 30% off depending on your choice.

The Apple Watch SE 2 is perfect for budget-conscious shoppers who want a smartwatch that's compatible with their existing Apple devices. This deal is for the S/M size, but keep checking back as we'll monitor offers on other sizes as well.

Slow Wi-Fi can get in the way of your day-to-day tasks, but if you constantly deal with this then it may be time to upgrade to a mesh system. This two-pack can support speeds of up to 6GHz and includes ports you can use to connect directly to your devices for even more efficient performance. You can now score this system for half off in anticipation of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days.

Previous Amazon Prime Day dates

Since Amazon launched its inaugural Prime Day sale way back in 2015, the company has (mostly) scheduled the event around the same time of year. In fact, outside of a couple of recent years when the dates were shifted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Amazon historically tends to kick off the main sale event somewhere within the middle two weeks of July.

Here are all of the previous Amazon Prime Day dates:

  • Prime Day 2015: July 15
  • Prime Day 2016: July 12
  • Prime Day 2017: July 11 to 12
  • Prime Day 2018: July 16 to 17
  • Prime Day 2019: July 15 to 16
  • Prime Day 2020: Oct. 13 to 14
  • Prime Day 2021: June 21 to 22
  • Prime Day 2022: July 12 to 13
  • Prime Early Access Sale 2022: Oct. 11 to 12
  • Prime Day 2023: July 11 to 12
  • Prime Big Deal Days 2023: Oct. 10 to 11
  • Prime Day 2024: July 16 to 17

As you can see, Prime Day was pretty much locked into an early- to mid-July schedule for its first five years before uncertainty around the pandemic in 2020 caused the company to push the sale back to the fall of that year. Then in 2021, Amazon was quick to bring it forward in the calendar once again, kicking off the event in an uncharacteristic June slot.

For 2022, Amazon returned the event to its customary July spot, kicking off on July 12, though the October slot was used for the Prime Early Access Sale, marking the first time the company had hosted two Prime Day-like sales in one year. Amazon followed that pattern for 2023 with a July Prime Day proper followed by a second Prime Day of sorts in October with the company's Prime Big Deal Days event. With dates now confirmed for Prime Big Deal Days, we'll keep our eyes peeled for the hottest deals you don't want to miss out on.
